The beauty of owning a marketing and branding company is when there is no word in the English language to describe a thought or feeling we want to convey…we just make it up.

It took our leadership team many, many hours to succinctly put in words the feelings we had when we were doing things just right, but it all came together with our purpose statement of: “Fostering empowergized leadership to spark transformational change.” which builds off of our mission statement, “To empowergize people and organizations with innovation, imagination, and inspiration to see higher…be better”.

Empowergize: empower + energize.

Because it is not good enough to only empower someone. Giving them knowledge and freedom without motivation or purpose will never create sparks—because without energy, nothing happens.

However, it’s even more dangerous to get someone all fired up (energized) without the proper information or guidance. In this situation, all you’ll create is a bull in a china shop with its hair on fire—someone who doesn’t know what the heck they are doing, making a huge mess of things…and doing with gusto.

This is why we aim for every experience with us, whether physical, digital, or through marketing materials—every experience—to be an empowergizing one; leaving you with a little more knowledge and a little more energy than you had before.

We find that this guiding light is a powerful filter, easily making subjective decisions and conversations objective. We also consistently pump insights and inspiration into the universe without any expectation of immediate tit-for-tat return, trusting that the ecosystem will eventually repay, often in the most unexpectedly amazing ways.

This is my goal with the stories I’m sharing here. These experiences are the manifestation of my journey of becoming an empowergizing leader. The stumbles, struggles, sacrifices, and successes…my unvarnished truth, as I’m experiencing, seeing and feeling it.

Here you will find stories of my experiences with working really hard to move from being unaware, to noticing, to sucking really bad at, to sucking just a little less some of the time. I hope some parts of my journey, reflections, and observations will inspire you along your own leadership journey. To keep fighting when times are tough (and they will be). To keep putting one foot in front of the other when you want to give up (there will be those times). I hope that by sharing my journey with you, it will make yours just a little bit easier, with just a few less potholes. 

As empowergizing leaders, we will never run out of things to mess up. But it’s not about trying to be perfect. It’s about consistently trying to be just a little better…all while inspiring and influencing positive change in the people and world around you. 

That is the path of an empowergizing leader. That is my path I hope to share with you here and inspire you to set out on your own path of empowergizing leadership as well. The world needs us.
